Remote Services Network Administrator/Consultant

This position is responsible for providing remote service and support to our clients, via telephone, email and remote control. Support duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responding to monitoring alerts, such as: failed backups, low disk space; stopped services; offline machines; unexpected restarts; and disk errors.
  • User account maintenance, including: adding new user accounts; setting-up new user desktop profiles and mail profiles; deleting user accounts; and resetting passwords.
  • Installing, configuring and troubleshooting server software (from Microsoft and 3rd party vendors).
  • Providing support to business end-users for help with various issues, such as: installing, configuring and troubleshooting application software (from Microsoft and 3rd party vendors); password resets; local network connectivity; internet connectivity; virus removal; remote access; and setup of smartphones.
  • Providing support to our Field Services team working onsite at client offices.

Training and hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and Windows XP/Vista/7 operating systems is required.

Training and hands-on experience with network administration, Microsoft Exchange Server, file-level backup software and disk image-level backup software, network-based antivirus software, anti-spam solutions, firewall security appliances and remote access (VPNs, OWA, smartphones) is required.

Specific experience with the following is desired/helpful: Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 and 2008; Terminal Services/Citrix; SonicWALL firewall appliances. Experience with Kaseya remote monitoring and management software and ConnectWise PSA software is very helpful.

The MCITP: Server Administrator 2008 certification is the minimum certification for this position. We will consider an applicant with strong work experience who has not yet passed all of the certification exams, but that applicant must commit to completing the certification requirements within the first 3 months of employment. Prior MCSA2003 and MCSE2003 certifications are very helpful.

Prior MSP, Service Desk, Helpdesk experience and prior IT consulting experience is desired, and is a very strong plus.

The ideal candidate will have the above technical skills, a professional manner, excellent communication skills, and 3+ years of hands-on experience with the support of a variety of Microsoft networks for small and mid-size businesses.

On most occasions, work for this position is performed in Las Colinas office. One some occasions, local car travel in the Greater DFW area is required to visit client sites.
