Wurst Golf Fest Golfers Raise Over $39,000 for Charity!

With the month of September coming to a close, Sagiss and Cornwell Jackson presented the thirteenth annual Wurst Golf Fest! It was a warm Autumn’s day in McKinney, Texas which saw many competing golfers enjoying their favorite past time with plenty of bratwursts and drinks to boot—in no small thanks to The Bavarian. The annual golf tournament was held not just for an enjoyable day of golf, good food, and friendly gatherings, but, primarily for the benefit of The Samaritan Inn and Journey to Dream programs. The Samaritan Inn is the only homeless shelter in Collin County and operates year around, day and night, with the primary residents being families. Journey to Dream works with teenagers to promote a drug and alcohol free life style while helping them adopt productive habits and behaviors.

Needless to say, the event was a shining success with just over $39,000 collected in total—the most raised in the history of Wurst Golf Fest! There was a wonderful raffle with several highly prized items ranging from Olympic clubs to wine tasting tours of local vineyards. The Bavarian challenge pitched competing golfers against our fully outfitted Bavarians to a closest to the pin contest. Silent and live auctions were held as the day drew to a close during the evening dinner.

Sagiss is now looking forward to next year for the 14th Wurst Golf Fest.  If you missed it this year, we will let you know the date next year as soon as we know so you can reserve the day on your calendar. The volunteers for the event put forth their best effort and helped the entire event run smoothly. A special thanks everyone involved for all their hard work.
