Following years of neglect and two very high-profile data breaches, Google+ is officially shutting down.
According to a statement by Google, users will no longer be able to create new profiles, pages, communities or events after Feb 4, 2019. The platform will completely shut down in April 2019.
If you still have important data left in Google+, we recommend downloading a copy of that data immediately!
Within the next 90 days it may no longer be accessible, so act now to grab any important information left in your profiles.
Luckily, the folks at Google have made the task of retrieving your data a pretty simple process.
1. Visit Google’s “Download your data” page.
2. Select the data you want to export and click “Next” in the lower left-hand corner.
3. Choose the file type, archive size and delivery method.
4. Click “Create Archive”.
5. Once the data is packaged, download the archive and you’re good to go!
